So I watched The Wolverine this past weekend (pretty good) and it got me thinking of the first X-Men movie I saw back in 2000. I remember two things: we owned the movie on VHS and I had received a Wolverine action figure (it was released as part of the big merchandise push for the movie. Keep this in mind…).
This was not a terribly well sculpted figure, all of his limbs were too skinny compared to the torso, there was only one set of claws (spring-loaded!), and the pose was ridiculous (think sassy dancing!).
The biggest thing I remember though, is the shirt. Wolverine had on what looked like a button-up, rust-colored shirt with silver stars. Let that sink in. Never in my life, much less when I saw the movie released in 2000, have I seen ol’ Logan rocking top wear like that.
All this to say, I drew the picture in a feverish attempt to get the image out of my head, but now all I can think of is an alternate Marvel universe where Logan is a bit more open-minded with his clothing choice, a dance enthusiast with a prickly attitude, and of the mind that using two sets of claws is “too mainstream.”
Hey, it could happen.
Something I drew over the past few days. Not meant for anything specific, just working on different poses. You don’t ever think about HOW people sit until you’re trying to draw them doing it. Here I’m just working in some color digitally, via Pixlr.com, for the first time. Gnomes are known to wear unique and “colorful” clothing, so I tried to think of some color schemes that I don’t usually use. Before/After. WIP
draw2much asked: *swirls mustache* I know where you Imgur... ;)
I know where you ask me questions…wait…
Anonymous asked: Did you create those Venture Brother's pixel art thingies? If so, very well done. I've seen em being drawn on Draw Something 2 =)
Whoa, talk about late responses. Sorry about that!
Yes, I did create those pixel pieces. I was in the middle of another one when my computer died a couple of weeks back, so I’ve been unable to create more sadly.
Hoping to get everything back on track at some point, but thank you for your compliment!
So my computer’s hard drive pretty much bit the dirt last week, right in the middle of a new pixel piece I was working on. Needless to say, even if I can somehow recover the work, it will probably take some time before I’m up and running again. I don’t quite have an ETA at this point, but I will update when I do.
Thank you for hanging out, looking at my stuff, and your patience.
See you guys soon.
